Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, took a dig at Steve Waugh after he slammed Dhoni for demanding turning tracks as he questioned Waugh if India gets a turning track in Perth?
Sidhu also said that Team India would ensure that England get the taste of spin, as they tormented Indians last year after beating them 4-0 in the Test series, and it was time for India to show how strong they are at home.
"We are not here to give comfort to the English side. We would like to win this series. When we go to England, do they make tracks that offer turn? It is important for India to win this series," Sidhu said.
"Ask Steve Waugh whether the Indian team gets a turning track when we visit Perth?," asked Sidhu.
"Does Waugh wants that we gift the Test series to England? The track will be same for both teams," he added.
Sidhu also defended MS Dhoni for demanding turning pitches as he said hosts would like to have turning tracks in the Test series in order to take advantage against England.
Moreover, Sidhu also suggested that Team India should play Harbhajan Singh in the second Test in order to extend their dominance against England, after winning the first Test at Ahmedabad by 9 wickets.
"I have been saying since Day I that their strength is swing and ours is spin. More the number of spinners, better it is. If we play Harbhajan in Mumbai, then England will feel psychologically bogged down," he concluded.
