I never thought about 100th ton, says Sachin

Dhaka, Mar 16: Sachin Tendulkar, who completed his 100th international hundred against Bangladesh on Friday, said he was never bothered about the milestone but it wherever he went, people kept reminding him about the historic feat.

Tendulkar, speaking to Ramiz Raja on "Neo Cricket", during the innings break at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, said the feeling of reaching to the milestone had not sunk in yet.

"It has not sunk in yet but I have definitely lost 50 kilos," Tendulkar said.

"It's been a tough phase for me. I started off the season batting reasonably well, I was luckless. I was not thinking about the milestone, the media started all this. Where ever I went, the restaurant, room service, everyone was talking about the 100th hundred. Nobody talked about my 99 hundreds," he added.

He mentioned that contributing to the team was more important than scoring hundreds.

Tendulkar said his innings during the 80s and the later part was slightly different as the ball was not coming onto the bat.

"It was slightly different, the ball was not coming onto the bat. Doesn't matter how many hundreds you've scored, you still have to put your head down and score for the team. Dreams do come true. I had to wait for one for 22 years. We won the World Cup after 22 years. So, don't stop chasing your dream," Tendulkar said.
