Tendulkar underwent surgery to injured hand

Sachin Tendulkar underwent surgery last month to treat an injury to his left hand, sustained during the Indian Premier League earlier this year.

He had flown to London for the operation and reports suggest he has looked comfortable practising at the Mumbai Cricket Association. Tendulkar is expected to make his final appearance for Mumbai Indians in the upcoming Champions League after being named in the 15-man squad.
The injury had occurred in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai when, after lofting legspinner Karan Sharma for a six, Tendulkar found it difficult to grip the bat and asked for the physio's help. He retired hurt and further checks revealed swelling in his wrist and around a tendon in the left hand. Tendulkar was subsequently ruled out of all the remaining games, including the final and, after Mumbai's victory, the batsman announced hisretirement from the IPL.
Mumbai will play Rajasthan Royals in the opening match of the Champions League in Jaipur on September 21.
