With his passion for cricket having no boundaries, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar during an event at Mumbai revealed that he had also bunked cricket practice sessions while he was very young.

Sachin Tendulkar, who was present at NDTV's My school campaign, revealed that he was rather unsuccessful in bunking cricket practice sessions as his coach Ramakanth Achrekar or his brother would find him if he had skipped any of the sessions.

"Teachers are very important in a person's life. I remember my cricket coach in particular. Ramakant sir (Ramakant Acharya) was always an inspiration. In fact, me and a few friends bunked practice a few times but he always used to ride his scooter to find and get us back," Sachin Tendulkar was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Talking about how to balance studies and cricket, Sachin Tendulkar also admitted that at times he felt like skipping the practice sessions. When he tried to skip any session, his coach or brother would find him.

"What is important is that when you play, you play but study with full concentration when it is time for that. I did feel like skipping practice 10-15 times but always had a guiding hand to help me."
Tendulkar addressing youngsters during the event advised them to pursue what their heart desires.

"You can be a cricketer or an actor or whoever you want to be. You can be only if you follow your heart," said Sachin Tendulkar, who has been the highest run-scorer in the history of the game.
