Mumbai's Abhishek Nayar reveals that those eight minutes during IPL 6 auction troubled him a lot as he became very nervous during the auction forcing him to stay locked in a room.
The allrounder was termed a hot property in the auction held at Chennai, as six franchises wanted to sign him for their respective teams. WIth a base price of $100,000 Pune Warriors bought him for $675,000.
Talking to mid-day about how he felt after being signed by Pune Warriors, Nayar said "My hands went cold. This was the first time I was watching the auction. It was a good experience to see yourself getting sold"
The 29-year-old also said that he was surprised to see as many as six teams bidding for him.
"I kept everyone away when the auction was on and locked myself in a room because I didn't want anyone to see my reactions. "I was pleasantly surprised to see so many teams bidding for me. I was expecting a decent run (in the auction).
"So, I am very happy and relieved that the auction is over. I will now focus on doing well," Nayar was quoted as saying by Mid-day.
Abhishek Nayar has represented Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians in the previous editions of IPL. The 29-year-old has also represented India Green, Mumbai Cricket Association President's XI and has also played for India in 3 ODIs.
