Dhoni was hit by a rising delivery bowled by India bowling coach Joe Dawes on one of the practice pitches at JSCA International Stadium. The India skipper was hit on the right thumb but there was no fear of him missing the game tomorrow.
Later, Ravindra Jadeja, who addressed the pre-match press conference, said he was not aware of Dhoni's injury.
"Actually I have not seen and have no reports about it because I was batting at the other end. I will go and have a look and get to know the level of injury. It is difficult to comment right now on whether he will be able to play or not, because as I told you what is the gravity of the injury," Jadeja said.
The JSCA International Stadium will host its first over ODI on Saturday. The five-match series is tied at 1-1.
